Choosing a brokerage is about more than a commission split.
The systems behind the brokerage affect how efficiently you follow up with leads, manage transactions, stay compliant, communicate with support, market your business, and serve your clients.
At eXp Realty, agents receive access to a broad technology platform designed to support a cloud-based real estate business. That includes a choice of customer relationship management systems, transaction-management tools, training resources, communication platforms, and virtual access to brokerage support.
But access to technology is not the same as having a working business system.
At Big Frontier Group, our focus is helping agents understand which tools matter, how they fit together, and how to use them without creating unnecessary complexity.
Here is a practical look at the primary eXp Realty tools available to U.S. agents in 2026.
CRM of Choice: BoldTrail, Cloze, or Lofty
Real estate agents do not all operate the same way.
Some agents depend heavily on online leads and automated follow-up. Others build primarily through their sphere, referrals, and long-term relationships. Teams may need more advanced lead routing, reporting, and accountability.
eXp Realty’s CRM of Choice program allows agents to select one of three CRM platforms as part of the company’s standard technology offering:
- BoldTrail
- Cloze
- Lofty
Each platform approaches lead management differently, so the best choice depends on how you actually generate and manage business.
BoldTrail
BoldTrail is the next generation of the platform previously known to many agents as kvCORE.
It is generally best suited for agents who want a broad real estate platform combining lead capture, contact management, automated campaigns, behavioral tracking, lead scoring, property alerts, and IDX website capabilities.
BoldTrail may be a good fit for:
- Agents purchasing or receiving online leads
- Agents who want automated email and text follow-up
- Agents who need an IDX-connected website
- Solo agents building a scalable lead-management system
- Teams that need structured campaigns and pipeline visibility
Like any full-featured CRM, BoldTrail can become cluttered when campaigns, tags, alerts, and automations are added without a clear plan. The platform is most useful when it is configured around a defined follow-up process rather than treated as a collection of features.
Cloze
Cloze is designed around relationships and communication history.
It can bring together contact information, emails, calls, texts, meetings, and other interactions to help agents understand who they know, when they last communicated, and which relationships may need attention.
Cloze may be a strong fit for:
- Sphere-based agents
- Referral-focused businesses
- Agents with large personal and professional networks
- Agents who want communication history organized automatically
- Professionals who prefer relationship reminders over aggressive lead campaigns
It is particularly useful for agents whose business already exists within their network but who need a better way to organize and maintain those relationships.
Lofty
Lofty combines CRM functionality with lead management, marketing automation, team workflows, and IDX capabilities.
It may appeal to agents and teams that want a visually organized system with configurable automations and a strong emphasis on digital lead conversion.
Lofty may be a good fit for:
- Growing teams
- Agents managing multiple lead sources
- Businesses that need lead routing and accountability
- Agents who want customizable marketing workflows
- Teams seeking a more visual pipeline and dashboard experience
The right choice is not necessarily the CRM with the longest feature list.
It is the CRM your business can use consistently.
Choosing the Right CRM Requires an Honest Assessment
Before selecting a CRM, agents should answer a few practical questions:
- Where do most of my opportunities come from?
- Am I primarily managing internet leads, relationships, or both?
- Do I need an IDX website?
- Will I consistently maintain tasks and contact records?
- Am I working independently or as part of a team?
- Which automations will genuinely help—and which will create noise?
- Who will own the system after it is configured?
A CRM cannot compensate for unclear responsibilities or inconsistent follow-up.
The technology should support the process, not become the process.
SkySlope: Transaction Management and Compliance
SkySlope is one of the primary transaction-management platforms used within eXp Realty.
Agents use it to organize transaction documents, submit files for broker review, track required paperwork, and maintain a complete compliance record from contract through closing.
Depending on the transaction and state requirements, agents may use SkySlope to:
- Create and organize transaction files
- Upload contracts, disclosures, and supporting documents
- Submit files for compliance review
- Track missing or required paperwork
- Communicate with transaction and brokerage personnel
- Maintain an auditable record of the file
SkySlope is not simply digital storage.
It is part of the brokerage’s compliance structure, which means agents must still understand their contracts, deadlines, documentation responsibilities, and state-specific requirements.
Good transaction management begins before documents are uploaded. Files should be complete, clearly named, submitted promptly, and monitored until all compliance items have been resolved.
eXp World: Virtual Access to Brokerage Support
eXp World is the company’s virtual business environment.
Rather than relying exclusively on a physical brokerage office, agents can use the platform to reach support departments, attend meetings, participate in training, and connect with brokerage personnel.
Agents may use eXp World to access:
- State broker support
- Transaction and compliance assistance
- Accounting and commission support
- Agent onboarding
- Technology assistance
- Live classes and company events
- Operational departments
This model can be especially useful for agents serving large geographic areas or working from rural communities where driving to a central office is impractical.
The advantage is access.
The responsibility is knowing where to go, how to ask a clear question, and when a matter requires direct broker involvement.
My eXp: A Central Agent Dashboard
My eXp provides agents with centralized access to important company information and business resources.
Depending on the agent’s role and account configuration, the platform may provide access to areas such as:
- Agent profile and account information
- Production and transaction information
- Revenue share reporting
- Stock award information
- Company resources
- Support links
- Brokerage tools and applications
Agents should become familiar with My eXp early in the onboarding process. Waiting until a payment, transaction, or account issue occurs usually makes the learning curve more frustrating.
eXp University and Live Training
eXp Realty offers live and on-demand education through eXp University and related training programs.
Topics may include:
- Contracts and compliance
- CRM training
- Lead generation
- Listings and buyer representation
- Technology setup
- Business planning
- Marketing
- Team building
- Brokerage operations
- Revenue share education
The volume of available training can be valuable, but it can also become a distraction.
Agents do not need to attend everything.
A better approach is to choose training that supports the current stage of the business. A newly licensed agent may need contracts, client communication, and transaction fundamentals. A producing agent may benefit more from database management, delegation, team systems, or profitability.
Training should solve a present need or support a defined next step.
Canva and Marketing Resources
eXp agents may also have access to company-supported marketing tools, templates, brand materials, and resources such as Canva.
These tools can help with:
- Listing marketing
- Social media graphics
- Presentations
- Buyer and seller materials
- Recruiting content
- Print collateral
- Brokerage-compliant branding
Templates can save time, but they do not eliminate the need for review.
Agents remain responsible for ensuring that advertisements accurately represent the property, brokerage, team, services, and agent qualifications. Required brokerage identification and state-specific advertising rules still apply.
Good marketing should be clear and accurate before it is clever.
What Does the eXp Technology Platform Cost?
As of this update, eXp Realty lists the following standard U.S. agent fees:
- $149 one-time start-up fee
- $85 monthly cloud brokerage fee
- Applicable transaction, broker-review, and risk-management fees
Fees and included services may change, and agents should verify the current schedule directly with eXp Realty before making a brokerage decision.
The monthly fee should not be evaluated solely by counting software subscriptions.
The more important question is whether the combined brokerage platform, technology, training, support, and business model provide enough practical value for the agent’s goals.
Technology Does Not Replace a Business Plan
A CRM does not create relationships.
An automated campaign does not guarantee a response.
A virtual office does not eliminate the need for broker communication.
A library of training does not create competence unless the agent applies what they learn.
Technology provides leverage when it supports:
- Prompt and consistent follow-up
- Accurate contact records
- Clear task ownership
- Organized transaction files
- Reliable client communication
- Measurable lead conversion
- Repeatable operating procedures
- Appropriate broker and compliance oversight
Without those fundamentals, even an excellent technology stack can become an expensive collection of unused tools.
How Big Frontier Group Helps Agents Put the Tools to Work
Big Frontier Group is brokered by eXp Realty, but our agents do not operate alone.
We provide practical support designed to help agents move from access to implementation.
Depending on the agent’s role, experience, production goals, and team agreement, that support may include:
- Individual onboarding assistance
- CRM organization and follow-up guidance
- Lead-routing and database-management systems
- Buyer, seller, and listing templates
- Transaction-coordination options
- Administrative and marketing support
- Rural, land, farm and ranch, residential, commercial, investment, and specialty-property resources
- Team operating procedures and checklists
- Access to selected team technology and professional resources
- Ongoing troubleshooting and collaboration
- Statewide referral and business-development support
We do not believe agents need more technology simply for the sake of having it.
They need a manageable system, clear expectations, and support from people who understand how the work is actually done.
Is eXp Realty—and Big Frontier Group—the Right Fit?
eXp Realty offers a substantial technology and support platform, but no brokerage is the right fit for every agent.
Before making a change, consider:
- The kind of business you want to build
- How much structure and support you need
- Whether you prefer independent or team-based production
- How you generate clients
- Which tools you will realistically use
- Your current expenses and commission structure
- Your need for administrative, marketing, or transaction support
- The experience and availability of the people sponsoring or leading you
The brokerage model matters.
The people and systems surrounding you matter just as much.
Big Frontier Group works with agents who value reliability, cooperation, organization, practical support, and long-term growth. We serve communities across Colorado, with deep roots in Southern Colorado and experience across a wide range of property types.
