The right brokerage should do more than hold a real estate license.
It should provide a stable foundation for serving clients, operating efficiently, supporting agents, and building a business that can adapt over time.
That is what Big Frontier Group was looking for when we chose eXp Realty.
We did not make the decision because of one technology platform, one compensation feature, or one recruiting presentation. We chose eXp because its overall brokerage model gave us room to build Big Frontier Group around the markets, property types, systems, and standards that matter to us.
That remains the central reason the relationship works.
eXp provides the brokerage platform. Big Frontier Group builds the operating structure around it.
We Needed a Brokerage That Could Support a Statewide Business
Big Frontier Group has deep roots in Southern Colorado, but our work is not limited to one town, one county, or one category of real estate.
Our agents and clients may be working with:
- Residential homes
- Vacant land
- Farms and ranches
- Mountain and recreational property
- Commercial real estate
- Investment properties
- Hospitality and specialty assets
- Properties spread across large geographic areas
A traditional office-centered model would not necessarily make our work easier.
We needed a brokerage that could support agents serving rural communities, mountain markets, metropolitan areas, and clients located far beyond the nearest physical office.
eXp’s cloud-based structure made that possible.
Agents can access brokerage resources, training, transaction support, communication platforms, and company systems without building their businesses around a daily commute to a central office.
That flexibility is especially valuable in Colorado, where one transaction may be fifteen minutes away and the next may be several hours across the state.
We Wanted Independence Without Operating in Isolation
Independence is important to us.
So is support.
We wanted the ability to build our own brand, operating procedures, marketing systems, lead-management practices, and service standards without separating ourselves from the resources of a larger brokerage.
eXp gave us room to shape Big Frontier Group around the way we believe real estate should be practiced:
- Clear communication
- Reliable follow-through
- Practical systems
- Strong client service
- Cooperation rather than unnecessary competition
- Adaptability across markets and property types
- Compliance-aware business practices
- Long-term relationship building
That independence does not mean agents are left entirely on their own.
eXp provides the underlying brokerage structure, including state-level broker oversight, transaction and compliance systems, technology, training, and company support.
Big Frontier Group then adds another operational layer through our team processes, leadership, tools, administrative resources, and market experience.
The value comes from having both.
The Cloud-Based Model Fits How We Actually Work
Real estate is already a mobile business.
Agents meet clients at homes, ranches, offices, vacant parcels, inspections, closings, and community events. Much of the work happens in vehicles, on phones, at kitchen tables, or from wherever reliable internet is available.
A physical office can still be useful, but it is not the center of every productive real estate business.
eXp’s model allows us to direct more attention toward the systems that influence the client experience:
- Prompt lead response
- Consistent follow-up
- Accurate property information
- Organized transaction files
- Clear task ownership
- Accessible training
- Reliable communication
- Marketing support
- Documented workflows
We would rather invest energy in making the business work well than in maintaining an office simply to prove that one exists.
For our statewide and rural service model, that is a practical advantage—not just a lifestyle benefit.
The Brokerage Technology Gives Us a Strong Starting Point
eXp agents have access to a range of brokerage technology and resources, which may include CRM options, transaction-management systems, communication platforms, virtual brokerage support, agent dashboards, marketing resources, and live or on-demand education.
That provides a useful foundation.
However, technology access was never enough by itself.
A CRM does not create disciplined follow-up. A transaction platform does not ensure that deadlines are met. A communication tool does not guarantee that responsibilities are clear.
The tools only become valuable when they are organized into a working system.
At Big Frontier Group, we focus on implementation:
- How contacts are categorized
- How new leads are routed
- Who follows up and when
- How tasks are assigned
- How listing information is reviewed
- How seller updates are delivered
- How transaction responsibilities are divided
- How marketing work moves from request to completion
- How agents and staff know what happens next
eXp gives us access to infrastructure.
Our responsibility is to turn that infrastructure into repeatable, reliable operations.
We Can Build the Big Frontier Group Brand Within a Larger Platform
We did not want to disappear inside a national brokerage identity.
Our clients work with Big Frontier Group because of our people, experience, service model, local knowledge, and ability to handle a broad range of Colorado property.
At the same time, being brokered by eXp Realty gives us the support and reach of a larger organization.
That combination allows us to maintain:
- A recognizable team identity
- Colorado-focused marketing
- Local and regional expertise
- Team-specific service standards
- Specialized property knowledge
- Our own internal systems and resources
while still benefiting from:
- Brokerage oversight
- National and international connections
- Agent-to-agent referrals
- Company training
- Technology infrastructure
- Transaction support
- Broader professional communities
For us, the model provides scale without requiring Big Frontier Group to become generic.
The Network Creates Useful Connections
Real estate remains a relationship business.
A national and international brokerage network can be particularly valuable when clients are moving between markets, purchasing investments outside their home area, selling property from another state, or needing a professional with specialized experience.
Through eXp, we can connect with agents across a broad geographic network.
That can help with:
- Incoming and outgoing referrals
- Relocation clients
- Specialized property needs
- Market-to-market introductions
- Agent collaboration
- Business and vendor connections
- Learning from professionals with different expertise
The network does not replace careful referral vetting.
A shared brokerage logo does not automatically mean every agent has the same experience, responsiveness, or service standards.
We still evaluate the individual professional, communicate expectations, and remain involved where appropriate.
The size of the network creates opportunity. Good judgment determines whether that opportunity serves the client.
The Model Allows Agents to Learn Beyond One Office
In a traditional office, an agent’s exposure may be limited largely to the people working in that location.
eXp provides access to a much broader learning environment through company education, virtual meetings, communities, events, trainers, and agent-led organizations.
Agents may be able to learn from professionals working in:
- High-volume residential sales
- Rural and land markets
- Luxury real estate
- Commercial property
- Team leadership
- Operations
- Marketing
- Database management
- Agent attraction
- Investing
- Business planning
The volume of information is both an advantage and a potential distraction.
Agents do not need to attend every class, join every group, or adopt every system they encounter.
Our approach is to identify the training that supports the agent’s current priorities and then put it into practice.
Education should produce better decisions and better client service—not simply a fuller calendar.
Revenue Share Creates an Additional Opportunity
Revenue share is one of the most widely discussed parts of the eXp model.
It is also one of the most frequently oversimplified.
The program may allow qualifying agents to earn revenue share when productive agents they have attracted to the brokerage complete transactions, subject to eXp’s current terms and qualification requirements.
That can create an additional income opportunity for agents who genuinely help other professionals understand the company, transition successfully, and grow productive businesses.
It is not guaranteed income.
It does not replace real estate production.
It should not be the sole reason someone joins a brokerage.
At Big Frontier Group, we believe agent attraction should begin with real support and an honest assessment of fit.
The question is not simply:
Can we persuade someone to join?
The better question is:
Can we help this person build a stronger, more sustainable business after they arrive?
When the answer is yes, revenue share may reward the value created through that relationship.
When there is no meaningful support behind the invitation, the model becomes little more than recruiting noise.
Equity Programs Can Create a Sense of Ownership
eXp also offers qualifying agents opportunities to receive or purchase company stock through applicable equity programs.
That was appealing to us because it creates the possibility of participating in the broader company’s performance rather than earning income only one transaction at a time.
Still, stock should be treated as an investment asset—not as guaranteed compensation.
Its value can rise or fall. Eligibility requirements and program terms may change. Agents should review current documents and make financial decisions based on their own circumstances.
We view equity as a potential additional benefit of the model.
We do not treat it as a substitute for building a profitable real estate business.
The fundamentals remain the same:
- Serve clients well
- Generate sustainable business
- Manage expenses
- Maintain accurate records
- Follow through consistently
- Build relationships
- Protect the reputation of the team and brokerage
Stock opportunities may complement those fundamentals, but they do not replace them.
eXp Supports Growth Without Dictating One Path
Not every agent wants the same career.
One may want to remain an independent producer with a manageable client base.
Another may want to join a team, develop a specialty, build a statewide practice, create an organization, or eventually lead other agents.
A brokerage should be capable of supporting more than one legitimate model.
eXp gives agents room to pursue different paths, subject to brokerage policies, licensing requirements, and any team agreements they enter.
At Big Frontier Group, we value that flexibility because our agents may have different markets, strengths, schedules, and long-term goals.
We do not believe everyone needs to build the largest possible business.
We believe they need a business that is ethical, organized, financially sound, and compatible with the life they are trying to create.
The Model Works Particularly Well for Rural and Regional Real Estate
Rural real estate demands adaptability.
Properties may be far apart. Internet and cellular service can be inconsistent. Local customs, water rights, access, utilities, land-use rules, mineral interests, agricultural considerations, and financing options may vary significantly from one transaction to the next.
Agents serving these markets need more than a nearby office.
They need:
- Access to experienced professionals
- Reliable broker support
- Strong digital systems
- Clear transaction processes
- Specialized property resources
- Flexible communication
- Statewide referral relationships
- A team capable of solving unfamiliar problems
eXp’s distributed model gives us access to the broader brokerage while allowing Big Frontier Group to develop the local knowledge and specialty systems rural work requires.
That combination has been a strong fit for our Colorado business.
eXp Does Not Replace the Need for a Strong Team
We are careful not to confuse brokerage affiliation with team support.
Joining eXp does not automatically provide every agent with Big Frontier Group’s systems, leads, staff, technology, templates, or daily assistance.
Those resources depend on the agent’s specific relationship with the team and the terms of any applicable agreement.
Likewise, Big Frontier Group does not replace eXp’s state brokers or brokerage compliance structure.
Each part has a separate role.
eXp Realty generally provides:
- Brokerage affiliation
- State-level broker oversight
- Company technology and platforms
- Transaction and compliance infrastructure
- Training and support resources
- Brokerage-wide programs
- A broad agent network
Big Frontier Group may provide, depending on the relationship:
- Team onboarding
- Lead-management systems
- Administrative and marketing assistance
- Listing and buyer resources
- Transaction-coordination options
- Team tools and templates
- Practical accountability
- Colorado market knowledge
- Property-type specialization
- Day-to-day collaboration
- Leadership and operational support
The distinction matters.
Agents should understand exactly what comes from the brokerage, what comes from the team, what costs extra, and what they remain responsible for themselves.
No Brokerage Is Perfect
We did not choose eXp because we believe every system is flawless.
A cloud-based brokerage requires agents to learn how to locate information and ask for support. Large organizations can create complexity. Technology changes. Programs evolve. Communication can become noisy. Not every trainer, sponsor, team, or agent operates at the same standard.
The model works best for professionals who are willing to:
- Learn the systems
- Maintain their database
- Use available support
- Ask clear questions
- Take responsibility for their business
- Follow established compliance procedures
- Create structure around their daily work
- Choose their team and sponsor relationships carefully
Agents who want a manager physically watching over every part of their day may prefer a different environment.
Agents who value flexibility but still want access to brokerage infrastructure and a strong professional network may find the model compelling.
The decision should be based on fit—not hype.
Why We Continue to Choose eXp Realty
The real test of a brokerage decision is not whether it sounds exciting when you join.
It is whether the model continues to support the business you are building years later.
For Big Frontier Group, eXp continues to provide:
- A scalable cloud-based brokerage platform
- Flexibility across Colorado markets
- Access to broker and transaction support
- Technology and education resources
- A broad professional network
- Opportunities for revenue share and equity
- Room to build and maintain our own team identity
- The ability to develop systems appropriate to our clients and agents
Most importantly, it allows us to remain focused on what we do best:
Serving people and properties across Colorado with practical guidance, dependable communication, and a willingness to handle the work that does not always fit neatly into a standard box.
eXp is not the Big Frontier Group business model.
It is the brokerage platform that helps us operate and expand that model.
That is why we chose it—and why the relationship continues to make sense for us.
Is eXp Realty or Big Frontier Group Right for You?
A brokerage move should be evaluated carefully.
Before making a decision, consider:
- Your current production and expenses
- The type of clients and properties you serve
- The structure and accountability you need
- Your preferred working environment
- The technology you will realistically use
- Your need for team, administrative, or marketing support
- Your long-term business goals
- The sponsor, co-sponsor, team, and leadership relationships available to you
- What is included and what remains your responsibility
Big Frontier Group works with agents who value reliability, organization, cooperation, practical systems, and long-term growth.
We are happy to explain how eXp Realty works, how Big Frontier Group is structured, and what an agent could realistically expect from each relationship.
No pressure and no promises that one model is right for everyone.
Just a straightforward conversation about whether the fit makes business sense.
